so you are about to quit your job. have you grabbed your personal stuff yet? probably, you've already cleaned your desk and cube. But what about your computer? Do you have any personal files you should remove? if so how much is there?

If you've worked at a place for a while you've probably accumulated a bunch of personal files. Attachments from friends, personal doc files, pictures you name it. How can you get these home quickly and safely.

You might have tried floppies but quickly ran out of space. Burning a cd is probably not an option. How many people have cd burners at work. An online storage account is probably your best bet. One with enough space and one with zero or no cost. Oh, and it also has to work through firewalls and not be blocked.

tHe Anywhere 'Free 50 For Life' account is got to be the best deal going. You can get setup with your personal email address and grab your files through a simple downloadable program or through a web based interface.

a couple things to keep in mind to use anywhere

First, when you sign up you'll get your account information sent to your email address. If you can't access your personal email account from work you'll need to setup your Anywhere account from home a day before you want to transfer your files.

next, you should use Anywhere explorer to transfer your files. It is very simple. You only need to know how to drag files from your work computer into Anywhere Explorer to do the transfer. later, at home you open anywhere explorer and double-click get them downloaded to your home machine.

Try installing Anywhere Explorer at work. it is very minimal and doesn't create registry entries or add files to windows directories. All of it's files go into it's directory and when un-installed it is gone.

Some corporate environments are particularly restrictive in the areas of installing files. We've heard that in many cases anywhere explorer installs fine. If it doesn't Anywhere has a web interface.

The Anywhere Web interface is your second choice if Anywhere Explorer isn't an option. being a web interface does limit your a bit. Uploading files is limited to 10 at a time with anywhere web. If you have a lot of files you'll probably want to zip them up and transfer them that way.
